The art of Kintsugi embodies new beauty made through imperfections. It’s an artistry of mending broken pieces through gold, symbolically representing how brokenness in our lives can transform to places of beauty. Instead of hiding chipped and broken parts, when imperfections are pronounced, symbolising the light, you behold something that’s more beautiful. It’s an art form of mending to make new.
In this “Kintsugi Experience” we’ll share a time of personal reflection with one another and beholding as we apply Kintsugi techniques to a vessel we’ve brought with us. No previous experience is necessary and all are welcome to come and “Behold the Broken & Mend to make New!”
All participants will receive an official Academy Kintsugi Kit with all the materials that are needed. The kit also allows individuals to further develop their own Kintsugi practice beyond this experience.
