Intro to Multimedia Mosaics

Discover the captivating art of Multimedia Mosaic with artist Alec Rice, member of the BAMM (British Association of Modern Mosaics). Immerse yourself in a 1-day workshop designed for both beginners and those with prior experience.

Learn the intricate techniques of crafting a mosaic panel, using a vibrant array of mixed tesserae. From crockery to shells, stones to jewelry, buttons to bottle tops, explore the limitless possibilities of incorporating unconventional materials alongside the traditional ceramics and glass typically found in mosaics. Feel free to bring along personal items of significance to infuse into your artwork, this is optional.

During this workshop, Alec Rice will guide you through essential aspects, including the art of planning, selecting the ideal base, choosing the perfect adhesive, exploring captivating backgrounds, mastering the cutting and shaping of tesserae, and finally, achieving a flawless grouting finish. Rest assured, all the necessary tools, equipment, and an abundant supply of tesserae will be readily provided.

Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
