Tom Stoppard’s dazzling and acclaimed comedy Arcadia is brought to life in a new production by Falmouth and Exeter Cornwall Campus’ Light Entertainment Society.
In 1809 in the country house of Sidley Park, a brilliant young prodigy Thomasina Coverly searches for a new meaning to life, even as the rest of the house is put into disarray by the arrival of the poet Lord Byron. In the present day, two researchers converge on the house to discover the secrets of its past.
Spanning two hundred years, this is a tale of infidelity and intellectualism; of loves lost and won; of duels and great discoveries. With crackling wit, Stoppard’s brilliantly imagined characters, superbly portrayed by local students, are sure to provide a night of entertainment."
