Light and Colour – A Colour Mixing Masterclass 

with local Artist Lisa Waldron

A day course at The Poly – for Beginners/Improvers

Lisa Waldron is an artist living and working in Falmouth. Since graduating from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design in 2011, she gained a PGCE in Secondary Art from University College London and worked as a Teacher of Art in South London. Lisa’s work has recently featured atmospheric oil paintings and detailed pen and ink drawings of Cornwall’s Subtropical gardens. 

On this full day course, Lisa will provide a detailed explanation of colour theory with practical exercises to improve your understanding of light and the characteristics of different colours and their relationships. We will look at colour temperature, colour bias and how to mix vibrant, natural colours to enhance and invigorate your own painting practice

By the end of the class, each student will produce a finished landscape painting in acrylic, employing the principles of colour theory explored on the course.

All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own sketchbook (A4 recommended, A5 minimum) to make notes or complete the colour theory exercises in.
