The Fast Track Big Band Summer Concert

The Fast Track Big Band was conceived over a couple of pints of ‘Spingo’ at the Blue Anchor in Helston by Tony Richards and Clive King in 2018. Clive is the Musical Director of the Helston School Jazz Orchestra. We were talking about how much we wanted to play good music on a regular basis so we decided to ask a few local musicians if they would be interested: the response was brilliant. the Band consists of 20 exceptional players and singers consisting of people from all walks of life, including music teachers and music students. The one thing they all have in common is their love and desire to play great, entertaining music. We rehearse once a month in Helston, playing an eclectic mix of jazz, modern songs and big band classics, from Steely Dan to Leonard Bernstein.
