In this talk we’ll be exploring a range of ghostly tales from across Cornwall, from phantom hounds and wandering spectres on the lonely moors, to ancient apparitions among the carns and quoits, and stories of smugglers in the isolated coves.
The Cornish landscape is rich and diverse, and almost everywhere you’ll find local stories of ghosts and spirits that roam the wilderness or haunt our towns and villages. We’ll be delving into some of these stories that have a link to the landscape, investigating their history and origins, and how they play an important part in our local heritage.
Keith Wallis works across theatre and film and is the host of ‘The Piskie Trap’ - a podcast series exploring the folklore, history and legends from across Cornwall. His recent work has involved a number of collaborations with leading historians, writers, folklorists and storytellers, as part of a movement to preserve local folklore traditions, and to promote Cornish history and heritage
Recommended Ages 16+, the talk will include themes of violence, references to true crime and supernatural themes.
