In 1982, British forces fought a war in the South Atlantic, over 8,000 miles from their bases and in one of the world’s most inhospitable oceans.
Their victory surprised the world but also allowed the British government to usher in a neo-classical form of economics that reshaped Britain’s economy.
This talk is given by Commodore (Rtd) Steven Jermy RN who flew from HMS Invincible and Port St Carlos, during the war, and later served in the policy areas of the MoD. He also studied international economics at Pembroke College Cambridge, and is the author of Strategy for Action: Using Force wisely in the 21st Century.
Tickets: £8/5
A £1 Poly Fund payment is added to each ticket sold
