Wayward Book Festival

We are sorry to announce Wayward Book Festival will not be going ahead this year, with the exception of Rathlin, A Wild Life With Ruby Free, which will now take place in the 'Above the Bookshop cafe' at Falmouth Bookseller.

Below is a message from Falmouth Bookseller:

“We are sad to say we have made the difficult decision to cancel Wayward Book Festival this year.  Due to significantly low advance ticket sales we can't be confident in the talks being well attended enough to make them enjoyable and viable.  With authors travelling down to us we felt the decision could not be made last minute as there were significant travel plans and costs involved for all.  We also felt it only fair to The Poly, who have always been a fantastic support to us, to give them time to use those evenings for alternative events.

We can only apologise to those had already booked tickets and to those who were hoping to attend.

This is absolutely not the end of the events programme, we still have plenty of individual events throughout the year lined up and I am sure the Falmouth Book Festival will be another cracker later in the year. We understand it can be tricky to plan ahead (especially when the sun is out) but please do try to book ahead where you can, not just for us but for any local events, as it really does help and has a big impact on the organisers.

Ruby Free will still be in Falmouth so Monday evening's event will be going ahead but in the Above the Bookshop cafe.  We'd still love it if you'd join us to hear all about Ruby's wild life on Rathlin (and the puffins!)

All customers should have now received a full refund - an automatic refund to the card that was used to buy the tickets, or if you used cash or a voucher we will have called you directly to arrange a full refund.
