Ever wonder how to turn your ideas into a novel or a screenplay? Wonder no longer: successful novelists and a BAFTA-winning scriptwriter, a Cornwall-based publisher and a psychotherapist talk you through their experiences.
You’ll come away from this session with practical insights into making your dreams a reality, so bring a pen and paper and take the first step in your publishing journey.

BEING AN INDEPENDENT PUBLISHER. Businesswoman and writer Sam Pentin has recently acquired the Cornish publisher Hermitage Press. She explains what she’s looking for and how writers should approach publishers.
GETTING AN AGENT. BAFTA-winning scriptwriter and novelist Claire Peate shares her experiences of getting an agent. Claire is rep’d by Curtis Brown (novels) and Revolution Talent (TV/ Film).
THE REALITIES OF MONEY: WHAT AUTHORS EARN. Award-winning writer Liz Fenwick, author of nine internationally-published novels, talks about the little-discussed area of money, and making a living doing what you love.
There will be the opportunity to informally ask questions and chat to the speakers in The Poly bar afterwards, 5pm – 5.45pm.
