Far From Heaven is a 2002 drama set in 1950s Connecticut, where the seemingly perfect suburban life of housewife Cathy Whitaker (Julianne Moore) unravels when she discovers her husband's homosexuality and later develops a forbidden relationship with their Black gardener, Raymond Deagan (Dennis Haysbert).
As the socially taboo nature of their friendship becomes public, the gossip threatens to expose the Whitaker's secret lives, forcing Cathy to confront both her husband's hidden world and the prejudices of her community.
