Offshore Expertise in Action

Falmouth and Penryn already have a remarkable concentration of companies with experience in offshore energy and marine engineering, working on projects both around the UK and internationally. But what do these businesses actually do, and why might their expertise matter as offshore activity develops closer to home?

This seminar brings together contrasting case studies to explore the depth and range of capability that already exists locally. Speakers include Mark Stevens, Senior Key Account Manager at Fugro, a global leader in offshore geotechnical and survey services, and Richard Parkinson, Managing Director of Inyanga, a Falmouth-based company working in offshore engineering and renewable energy.

Through practical examples from real projects, the speakers will show how skills, technology and experience developed in Falmouth and Penryn are already being applied offshore — and consider what this existing base could mean for the area as new opportunities emerge in the Celtic Sea and beyond.
