6-Week Glaze Technology Course

Looking to develop your own bespoke glazes? Our popular Glaze Technology Course returns this October!

Over six weeks you'll gain a practical understanding of what makes up ceramic glazes, how they interact, and how small changes can transform the finished surface. Through hands-on experimentation and testing you'll build the knowledge and confidence to develop your own unique glaze recipes.

You'll learn how to mix glazes from scratch using basic recipes, then fire and evaluate your test tiles each week.

By the end of the course, you'll be able to:

• Understand the role of individual glaze ingredients.
• Combine materials to create your own glaze recipes.
• Accurately weigh and mix glaze test batches.
• Analyse fired glaze tests and interpret the results.
• Build your own reference folder of glaze recipes, test tiles, and notes.
• Develop a solid understanding of ceramic glaze materials and essential studio health and safety practices.

Whether you're completely new to ceramics or an experienced maker looking to deepen your technical knowledge, this course is designed for all levels. No previous glaze knowledge or experience is required.
