HIDDEN FIGURES: SARAH GRIFFITHS

Reflecting on the feminine experience of feeling unseen and unheard, ‘Hidden Figures’ traces the artist’s response to female faces repeatedly emerging in her abstract pieces, demanding expression.

You are invited to come and celebrate women of every age and stage of llfe showing up boldly in their true colours.

This particular artistic journey began when I started noticing compelling female faces emerging in my abstract work. Intrigued, I determined to help each ‘become’, to tell their own unique story. I began to research stories of now famous women who had been sidelined or silenced. As I began to understand the struggle to be heard, the pieces became more colourful and vibrant celebrating the range and depth of female creative contribution to society.
