A two-hour workshop that will explore a range of performance skills needed for fighting on screen.
Including character work- finding out how a fantasy creature such as Orcs, Elves, Dwarves might move and of course plenty of swordplay! Building from drill, to 1 vs 1 to a mass battle finally.
Suitable for beginners and those with experience, it is a great chance to get a glimpse behind the scenes and discover how fights for screen are created to make performers look awesome but also keep everyone safe.
Great for fans of Pirates of the Caribbean, Game of Thrones or books like Lord of the Rings, Fourth Wing, A Court of Thorns and Roses or D&D.
Run by Swashbuckling Cornwall (SC) these are short, high-energy workshops giving you an introduction to the world of swordplay.
SC specialise in Stage/Screen Combat is the sort of fighting you see on stage and screen and is a way of creating dramatic scenes of conflict without anyone getting hurt, though choregraphed movements. Its origins are ancient, but the ‘modern’ version comes from the Elizabethan era.
Suitable for 18+ No previous experience required, but to get the most from the session some experience is suggested.
Advanced bookings only.
This is a physical workshop as such a basic level of fitness and mobility is required to take part.
