Shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup, CIA agents Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) are sent from Santiago to Easter Island by their bureau chief, MJ (Steve Buscemi). Surrounded by the island’s extraordinary landscape and iconic statues, the longtime partners find themselves confronting dark histories, present-day conspiracies and a mission that is rapidly slipping sideways. Chris’s unexpected friendship with two rebellious students only complicates matters further. 

Writer-director Martin McDonagh returns with another darkly funny tale of compromised men making questionable choices. Reuniting McDonagh with Sam Rockwell and bringing together a remarkable cast including Malkovich, Buscemi, Mariana di Girolamo, Ailín Salas, Tom Waits and Parker Posey, Wild Horse Nine mixes political intrigue, black comedy and character-driven drama in unmistakable McDonagh style.
