Writing Workshop with Joelle Taylor

Joelle Taylor is an award-winning poet, playwright, author and editor. Her most recent collection, Maryville, has been longlisted for the 2026 Forward Prize. Her collection, C+NTO & Othered Poems won the 2021 T.S Eliot Prize, and the 2022 Polari Book Prize for LGBT authors.

She is a co-creator and host of Out-Spoken Live at the Southbank Centre, and tours her work nationally and internationally in a diverse range of venues from Australia to Brazil. She is a Poetry Fellow of the University of East Anglia.

Joelle's formidable voice uses narrative and unflinching imagery to centre queer, butch and othered narratives across genre and form.

This workshop will look at prospects for worldbuilding and narrative in poetry and beyond.
