Dir. Lewis Arnold | 2024 | 75 mins plus Q&A | English
Don’t miss this special screening of the multi award winning environmental documentary The Big Sea accompanied by a filmmaker Q+A.
Exposing surfing’s hidden links to 'Cancer Alley’, the true cost Neoprene production as well the natural alternative that literally grows on trees, The Big Sea from filmmakers Lewis Arnold, Chris Nelson and Demi Taylor catalysed one of the biggest revolutions in the surf industry and celebrates the power we have as individuals to effect change.
Find out why:
C4 News’s Keme Nzerem called it: “One of the most important outdoor films of all time,”
Xcel wetsuits boss Ian Stewart called it “The film that changed an industry.”
Award winning surf journalist Tim Baker hailed it: “The most important surf film of my lifetime.”
Combing beautiful surf cinematography with lived experiences from activists and insights from scientists, surfers, environmental campaigners & industry insiders including the likes of SAS Co-Founder Chris Hines MBE, Surfrider CEO Chad Nelsen, Patagonia wetsuit guru Hub Hubbard, Seea founder Amanda Chinchilli , Finisterre founder Tom Kay plus writers, cultural commentators & professional surfers including Jamie Brisick, Dave Rastovitch Lauren Hill, Mike Lay Nikki van Dijk, big wave pioneer & chemistry professor Dr. Sarah Gerhardt and more… this is the film the surf industry didn’t want you to see. #saynotoneoprene
