THE ENAMEL SOCIETY: CONTEMPORARY ENAMELLING: AN EXPLORATION OF FORM

The British Society of Enamellers present a show of contemporary enamelled vessels and wall hung artwork. Included in the show is an exhibition of enamelling techniques that have influenced current enamelling practice including work from the world renowned enameller Jane Short and Maureen Carswell.

The British Society of Enamellers present a show of contemporary enamelled vessels and wall hung artwork. These works show the versatility of kiln fired vitreous enamels which when fired onto a metal base such as copper or steel produce a piece is unique. A “conversation” could be had around the influence of ceramics and enamelled art on one another. Eight artists will be exhibiting their work for sale, including two local artists Belinda Coyne and Sinead O’Connor. In addition, the society is showing enamelling techniques that have influenced current practices, including work from the world-renowned enamellers Jane Short and Maureen Carswell.

A representative from the British Society of enamellers will be there during the exhibition to give you information about both the artists and the techniques that they use.

Those exhibiting include: Belinda Coyne, Sinead O’Connor, Bethan Corin, Cathy Timbrell, Navah Langmeyer, Silke Espinet, Jennifer Wells and Come Roumegoux.
